Da Adbentyurs op a Lone Rider Part 6


This is an UBER late post. Been busy during the last holidays, and didn't have that much time to post until now. Just a couple of days after I got my (not so) new ride (check the previous post), I tested the machine, and tested my own endurance. It was also my own "hands-on training" to get used to a manual bike.


I got myself a Rouser, it's not new but it's still good. Hindi pa ako sanay mag manual, had 1 day practice, just enough to get me to work and back. Gusto ko talaga magamay ang pag handle ng manual na motor, so how else could you learn? Syempre sa pag ride. Naisipan kong sundan yung ginawa ko dati na CamSur / Tagkawayan Quezon arc, but this time gusto ko maabot yung Bicol arc (na di ko nagawa last time due to time constraints).

Pina check up ko muna ang aking Rouser to see if it is fit for a long drive. After a change oil and some tuning, nag go ahead yung mekaniko ko. By 10:30 umalis na ko ng Legazpi. Loaded 250 pesos of Gasoline at Petron Binitayan, at tuloy tuloy na ako.

Hindi na ako masyado nag picture sa arcs ng mga lugar dito sa Albay kasi common na common na para sa akin. Hehe. Eto na lang ang unang pinityuran ko, been here a lot of times but here it is.


I forgot to mention, my current "Trip" odo meter was at 110km before I left Legazpi, so ibabawas ko ito sa odo reading after the ride.

Tuloy ang byahe - Nabua, Baao, Pili, Naga, til Pamplona, where I took my lunch. Yung 250 pesos na gas ko eh kalahati pa lang ang natitibag (my speed was 80kph most of the time).


Sa DLTB meal stop na ito ako nananghalian, at ang mahal pala dito. Dapat naghanap na lang ako ng karinderia. LOL. Konting pahinga lang, at tuloy na ang byahe.

Isingit ko lang ito. This was my last ride with my Wavey. Send off ko ito sa kanya. I then took the R. Andaya Highway to get to the Tagkawayan, Quezon arc.


This time, I took the Daet route. Mas mahaba yung daan papuntang Daet, but finally narating ko rin. Hindi na ko nag picture sa formal arc ng Daet kasi punong puno ng tarpaulin hindi na makita ang nakasulat, kaya dito na lang ako nag picture.

Daet is "Where Bicol begins"... Hmm, bakit kaya? Siguro dahil yung sa Del Gallego, CamSur eh mga tagalog na.

I gassed up in MaxGas Daet (another 200 pesos) at tuloy na ang paglalakbay, pagkatapos ipahinga ang nangangalay kong wetpacks. Some ways up front, was Labo CamSur.




Patuloy ang paglalakbay, another hour and a half of twisties, and finally, narating ko rin ang aking pakay. Ito na talaga ang pinaka malayo kong byahe on 2 wheels, ever.







Si ate, pinagtitinginan ako. Ano kaya iniisip nya. Hmm, "ano ba to, picture ng picture, ngayon ka lang ba nakarating dito?" Sorry naman ate, oo ngayon lang ako nakarating dito on 2 wheels, may angal? Haha.



This was my odo reading at the arc. After a taking a moment to savor my own achievement (and at the same time to rest my weary butt), I decided to head back home. But...


...this time I took the other way (via Andaya Highway to Tagkawayan, Quezon) to form a loop. I would be back to the CamSur arc that I visited during my last ride slash send-off. 

The Andaya road was HORRIBLE. Buti na lang Rouser na ang gamit ko. Kung Wave pa siguro yung dala ko, ewan ko lang baka umuwi ako na sira ang suspension.

Pag dating sa Tagkawayan proper, medyo gumanda na ang daan. At natyempuhan ko na may ginagawa na palang arko dito, ito ang pinaka magandang arko na nadaanan ko so far. Thanks to Mayor... Hmm, mag-e-eleksyon na naman kasi...


I gassed up in Petron Tagkawayan, 150 pesos worth of unleaded petrol. Then tuloy na, home bound. 

After some distance ahead, here I am once again to the end point of my previous ride. The Tagkawayan - Del Gallego arc. This time, going in the opposite direction.



My last gas up for this trip was in Petroleum Bicol Baao, 100 pesos na unleaded petrol. Konting pahinga at snack na rin.


Uso na rin pala ang longboard dito. Si gasoline boy panay ang laro nito habang walang nagpapagas. Buti hindi sya pinapagalitan ng boss nya.

Met one of my basketball buddies here. Dito pala talaga sya nakatira, sa Legazpi lang nagwowork. Small world.

After an hour and a half of travel from Baao, I was finally back home. Nakakapagod at nakakangalay, pero it was worth the experience. Medyo nagamay ko na rin si Fenrir. Aside from the occasional engine stall (might take a while to keep in mind na hindi na Wave ang dala ko, LOL), pwede na rin, konting dagdag na lang sa experience.

My "Trip" odo reading nung nakauwi na ko:

656.2kms - 110kms = 546.2kms for the entire trip.

546.2kms - 302.6kms. (Legazpi to the Bicol Arc via Daet) = 243.6 kms. (Bicol Arc to Legazpi via R. Andaya Highway)

302.6kms - 243.6kms = 59 kms (meaning, kung pupunta ka ng Bicol arc, the trip will be 59kms shorter if you took the R. Andaya Highway).

Expenses on gasoline: 200 + 250 + 150 + 100 = 700 pesos.

Gas consumption: 700 pesos / 56 pesos per liter (estimated average cost of gas per liter) = 12.5 liters.

Mileage: 546.2 kms. / 12.5 liters = 43.696 or ~44kms./liter. Not bad for a bike with its size and displacement, and the riding style of a newbie.

Time: 10:30AM start of trip. 4:10PM arrived at Bicol Arc. Kasama na pahinga, kain at photo ops = 5º 40'. My travel speed is mostly at 80kph, at pag may mahabang straightaways ay pinapa 90-100kph ko.

4:35PM start of trip from Bicol arc. 10:20PM touchdown, home = 5º 45'. The return distance was shorter, but my average speed for the return trip was around 70kph only, gabi na kasi.

Total travel time = 11º 25'. My butt hurts.

How's that for detailed? So this is it for my ride. 'Til the next one.
